Disc Brushes

Reliable Contact, Right Where You Need It

Disc brushes are compact, versatile, and designed for controlled surface contact—whether you’re cleaning, deburring, or polishing. Mounted on a faceplate or rotary tool, these brushes deliver consistent performance across a flat surface or targeted zone.

At Carolina Brush, we design each disc brush to meet your exact application needs, from filament choice and stiffness to size, shape, and mounting configuration.

When Are Disc Brushes the Right Fit?

Disc brushes are ideal for applications requiring uniform surface contact, including:

  • Surface preparation for painting, bonding, or coating
  • Deburring and edge smoothing in metal or plastic parts
  • Dust and residue removal from panels or components
  • Polishing or buffing in high-speed finishing systems
  • Material movement control in vibratory feeders or sorters

Designed for Performance and Durability

Every disc brush we build is customized to your application, operating environment, and mounting setup. We offer options for everything from light-duty cleaning to aggressive surface conditioning.

Outside vs. Inverted Disc Brushes

Disc brushes can be configured to work either from the outside in or from the inside out, depending on how the brushing action needs to engage the part. Outside disc brushes apply contact along the outer face or edge of a component and are commonly used for surface finishing, cleaning, deburring, or edge blending on rotating parts. Inverted disc brushes are designed to apply pressure outward from the center, making them well-suited for internal finishing, bore cleaning, or working inside housings and cylindrical openings. Choosing the right configuration helps ensure even contact, controlled material interaction, and consistent results throughout the process.

Available options include:

  • Filament types: nylon, abrasive grit-impregnated, wire, or natural
  • Face diameters: small hand-tool sizes to large production plates
  • Fill patterns: radial, tufted, staggered, or dense
  • Mounting options: threaded hubs, drive plates, or custom backings
